Researchers at Bavarian universities and universities of applied sciences have access to HPC and AI resources via BayernKI.
Please note that the resources currently available for BayernKI projects are still limited. With the first part of the NHR@FAU Cluster “Helma” the expansion of new hardware has already begun and is expected to continue in 2025. Until then, the BayernKI resource access is under a test status.
Computer Resources
BayernKI projects have access to the currently available hardware:
- GPU cluster Helma (production start: Q1/2025) :
- Nvidia H100 94 GB HBM2e
- GPU cluster Alex:
- Nvidia A100 GPGPUs (with 40 or 80 GB RAM)
- Nvidia A40 GPGPUs (with 48 GB RAM)
- CPU cluster Fritz:
- Intel “Ice Lake” processors (2 x 36 cores) with 256 GB RAM
- Intel “Sapphire Rapids” processors (2 x 52 cores) with 1 or 2 TB RAM
